All Salsa Festival

Lyon, France

One room per style, and teachers from where each style comes from: Cuban with Cubans, mambo with New Yorkers, caleña with Colombians, in the same night.

The premise is stated plainly and worth taking at face value: Cuban salsa taught by Cubans, mambo by New Yorkers, caleña by Colombians, each with its own room. The organisers call it the only festival in France to gather all three, and nothing about the lineup contradicts that. Which also means the Cuban side is one third of the weekend rather than the whole of it. Wilmer y María, Adonis Santiago, Chiky Cuba, Bárbara Jiménez, Seo Fernández and Royma Rodríguez cover it, so the third is a strong one, but a dancer travelling only for casino should know what the other two rooms are doing. Four sprung floors, three indoors and one outside. Dancing in the open air is something almost no French festival offers, and it is the detail returning dancers mention. Around seven hundred people across the weekend. The 2027 edition brings Maykel Blanco live, with Son Con Ron alongside. A single night costs twenty euros, which is unusually low for what is on the floor, and the early full pass is limited to fifty.
