Salseando Beach

Salseando Beach takes over the Club Hotel Dante in Cervia, on the Adriatic coast south of Ravenna, for four days at the end of April. More than ninety workshops across the weekend, with shows, socials, a pool party and a dress code each night. The packages include full board, so classes, meals and parties all happen in the same building. The organisers lean on that: tu pensa solo a ballare, you just think about dancing. The billing is salsa and bachata, and the teaching leans linear rather than Cuban, with Tropical Gem, mambo specialists and Dominican bachata. But there is real Afro-Cuban content alongside it: Germano Carbotti's Yoruba Company and Nicolò Larichia's Batá Klan bring folkloric and drum traditions rather than social dance, which is unusual on an Italian salsa weekend.
